There are no words to express my deep appreciation and gratitude for all you have done for my family. The support has been amazing. One never thinks this will have happen close to home, much less to yourself! The blue roses were such an awesome show of respect and honor. I am so humbled and honored. Thank you from my broken heart.

We serve the community in many ways.

Backing the Blue Line has many ways in which we support each other, as wives, as well as the Minnesota Law Enforcement community as a whole. We would not be able to provide support to our Law Enforcement community without the generous donations we have received. We invite you to take a look at our 2016 budget report.

Supporting minnesota police agencies

As events arise, Backing the Blue Line is honored to be able to help Minnesota departments with supplies during times of unrest. Recently, the St. Paul Police Department had been put on mandatory shifts and worked a lot of overtime to make sure our streets were safe during the 4th precinct protests in December of 2015. Through the generous donations of the community, BtBL was able to provide snacks, water, meals and other supplies to law enforcement families directly affected by these events.

BENEFITING the Officer Besser memorial fund

This debut event was dedicated to the memory of Law Enforcement Officer and Air Force Veteran Todd Besser, who gave 16 years of service with Elk River Police before his death in 2015. This 5k event raised over $16,000 towards the Besser Memorial Fund and Backing the Blue Line!

Not So Blue Christmas

2016: the Valento family

Each year, Backing the Blue Line chooses a law enforcement family to sponsor for Christmas. We have in the past bought Christmas gifts, sent the family to concerts, paid for family camping trips, renovated houses, and much more. There are no limits to what we can do for our Christmas family and our response is based on their need.

Officer Down 5k

This national 5k event celebrates officers who put their lives on the line daily to keep our communities safe and honor those who have fallen in the line of duty.  This year's event was held in Aitkin, MN in honor of Deputy Sandburg who was killed in the line of duty in 2015.

We want to thank you for the variety of food, juice and water supplies that were brought to Precinct 5 on April 30, 2015. The items certainly were appreciated by the police teams while they were assigned to ensure that the two marches would remain peaceful. It was very thoughtful and caring that you ‘backed our blue’. We value your support!
— Inspector Todd Loining of the Minneapolis Police Department
