Supporters & Members
MUST be female and MUST be married, or in a long-term committed relationship, with their officer (not gender specific). The officer must be a current POST Certified Law Enforcement Officer in the State of Minnesota. POST License MUST be current, and active, as we require a POST number as part of our verification process.
We additionally welcome females whose spouses are retired from a MN agency (and are considered retired by the POST Board) or any female widow of an officer who had previously worked for a MN agency.
Backing the Blue Line recognizes both a member role and a supporter role for our organization.
A member must meet the qualifications for membership.
A supporter does not hold any member benefits but is allowed to seek support via our Facebook forum.
Private Facebook Group (Supporter)
This *PRIVATE* group is dedicated to the support of Minnesota Law Enforcement. It is used to unite a community of women—seeking hope and support—through friendships, networking, and discussion. It helps to raise awareness of the need to support our unique lives and share the bond that comes with being a law enforcement family. This is a closed/private group due to the secure nature of information provided and posted within. All Facebook supporters must be approved in order to keep it safe and secure for members. This level does NOT require any paid membership dues.
In order to join our Private Facebook Group there is a 2-step process.

BtBL Paid Member
In addition to being a part of our private Facebook group you can choose to elevate your BtBL support by becoming a paid member at $30 annually, effective January 2019 (which will need to be renewed each calendar year). BtBL is an organization based solely on donations and volunteers. We are 100% non-profit – which means all of the money we receive for membership dues, donations, etc. ALL goes back to officers and/or their families during times of need.

In the event of an officer death - you must be a paid member to participate in preparing, and handing out, our signature blue roses during funerals.

Just one paid annual membership covers (1/2) the cost of one bouquet of roses sent to an officer’s family after a non-line of duty death.

Paid membership packets will be emailed upon review and acceptance of application. If an area of interest is identified on the application - you will be contacted by a committee chair member shortly thereafter.
Blue rose membership pins are available for pick-up at one of our monthly meetings. There is no requirement for attending our monthly membership meetings but it is strongly encouraged if you are interested in becoming more involved.

Members may be asked to remove themselves if they no longer fit the qualifications of membership or they no longer support our vision in a respectful manner.
